Taking on a raod that is less travelled
Before Kevin and I set out to the street, we prayed. Kevin sensed a man wearing green shirt and dark pant, while I sense God wants me to seek a man around 30-ish age, and or a woman, who is lonely in their hearts, needs love, setting like sitting in a cafe or coffee shop that has glass panel kind. So we walked down to the ends of Joo Chiat Road. Till the ends of the road, we decided to cross towards Little Farms Market and entered inside. I saw a woman ( who is married early and has 2 grown ups children, but is single for whatever reasons I did not ask) promoting fruit juices at the door way inside Little Farms Mart. And so we approached her and sampled some juices and chit-chat with her. I was asking her where does the juices made from and etc, and she told us the whole story of how her son is helping a friend who runs a business, and how she comes in to assist her son in promoting the juices, at the same time can earn some part-time income. When I asked her if her son is married and she replied, he just broke up with his girlfriend. While I was commenting that she’s so hardworking and had to come out to work over the weekend, suddenly I felt led by Holy Spirit to ask her about her health. She replied she has low blood level and is taking health supplements. I asked her again if she had gone for health check up recently, but she replied she is ok. I think, maybe my persistency of asking her about health check up made her tensed up. She felt awkward but after I asked her if she is willing to let us pray for her. Then she told me, she had attended church before when she was a young primary school child but then stopped. I shared with her, I was also like her, attended church before when I was young. Later on when I grew up, I go back to Church and found Father’s love. Upon hearing that I go back to Church, she opens up. And Kevin and I prayed for her. We prayed that Jesus is our Miracle Healer, better than the doctors and scientists of this world. He loves her, and heals her lonely heart. Jesus knows everything about her as He creates her in His image, and wants her to come back to Him again. We also prayed a blessing over her, that her business selling juices will make profit and also a short blessing for her son’s business. After the prayer, I saw her like having teary waters at the corner of her eyes. I believe she is touched. She asked us where we from, and I told her and gave her the contact card of the church. After this, Kevin and I sat down at one coffee shop for meal. While eating, Kevin ministered to me in the area about PE. Really felt thankful for the day and what the Lord is doing.
Wonderful Outreach Expeience
This afternoon, Avas, Carol & myself, we went to Katong @112 and we first spotted a Cameroon couple who spoke little English to us and said that they were shopping around, + waited for their daughter to go somewhere thereafter that. Subsequently, we asked if we could pray for any difficult period in their life, they declined to speak anything & refused prayers, we then blessed them. Our next spot was when Carol approached and talked to climb central cashier on level 5 (Rock climbing area) – a Muslim who shared how he has been working part time for 5 years in Climb Central already, said that he is into Bio–Engineering in NUS, needed money to support the fees of his remaining course; and we offered to say any prayers, he said that he didn’t mind prayers, so Avas prayed that he would find joy as he spends his remaining time of studying in NUS till completion of his studies there. Our third stop saw that Carol approaching a domestic helper from to Myanmar who was waiting for her employer + his kid from their shopping, but she refused us to pray for her. Our final encounter also saw Carol approaching two JC 1 students (Joash – a believer, and his friend – a pre–believer) who were at ground entrance and they shared how they were waiting for results of their examination papers, so Avas prayed over them that they would not be waiting anxiously for their exam results but that they would have God’s peace within them while waiting for their results to be released out soon.We also encouraged Joash to bring his pre believing friend for church activities in his church that he would find + accept Christ in his life too. Truly, this outreach has been a fruitful one with four divine opportunities with four different sets of people!
Instant Treasure
We have a buddy system monthly and I was partnered with LK. One Sat I jio her for cycling to get together to pray and look for treasure. We met at the East Coast Lagoon Hawker centre and cycled to Katong Park and looked for a place to sit and pray. Before prayers, LK asked where’s our treasure? I looked to my front and saw a playground and there’s an Indian lady cycling on the stationery bike. I told her don’t worry, we have a treasure and she won’t cycle away 😜 After praying for one another, I saw the Indian lady slowly walking away. We cycled to the playground and I stopped her and told her we are from a nearby church and were here to pray for people. I asked her if she needed prayer and she said yes. She mentioned that she just arrived from UK few days ago and staying at Fort Rd temporary while looking for a permanent place in Sembawang, and her husband will join her next few days. She told us she’s a Christian and was searching for a church to attend. LK immediately asked her for her contact and told her she will pick her tomorrow as we have a combined service in the East. She was so glad and thankful, at least that part of her prayer is answered. She also told us to pray for her family as her children will also join them when they get a place in Sembawang which is nearer to her children’s school. Jesus has already prepared for us a treasure and we didn’t even have to hunt high and low. All praise and glory to Jesus! 🙏🏿🌈💖
