From a Simple Greeting to a Divine Appointment

I bumped into a former cell group member from my previous church during Sunday service. While we were catching up, she told me that her right eye had been twitching for some time and had also started slanting upwards. She wasn’t sure why it was happening.

I laid hands on her head and eye and prayed for her. After praying, I could sense that the twitching had stopped. She could feel it too, and her right eye was no longer slanting upwards. Praise God for the healing!

After that, I went prayer-walking around Orchard Road, where I met an elderly lady working there. I greeted her by saying, “How are you? You’re still so strong, working at your age-ah!” I casually asked how old she was, and that led to an easy conversation. She asked where I was from, and when I told her that I had attended a church service at Cornerstone @Orchard, she shared that she followed another religion.

I told her that was perfectly fine, as I wasn’t there to convert her but simply to bless her through prayer. She was open to it, and I felt led to pray for God’s peace and joy to fill her heart.

After praying, I asked whether she had any children or grandchildren. The moment I asked, she held my hands tightly and shared that her children and grandchildren had not visited her for many years. Her husband, who is older than her, is no longer working and struggles with gambling, so she has to continue working to support herself.

No wonder the Holy Spirit had led me to pray for joy to fill her. She seemed relieved after the prayer and continued holding my hands, asking whether I come to Orchard regularly.

Praise God for the word of knowledge. My initial intention was simply to go prayer-walking, and I had not planned to pray for anyone in particular. Yet an unintentional encounter led to an intentional act of ministry when I followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes, what begins as an ordinary moment can become a divine appointment when we are willing to be led by Him.
