Divine Detour

Before heading out for the treasure hunt, SK and CL prayed and received visions and impressions of a mall, seashells, a heart, rows of flowers, closed shutters, and a kangaroo (impression: moving forward). Based on these visions, our initial thought was to visit the florist at the mall.

As we were heading to the florist, we made our way up the escalator, and a stall caught our eye. There, amidst all the usual sights, were stools that looked like seashells. However, as we took a closer look, we realized they were actually made from twirled reed material. As we continued to inspect the stools, we noticed some colorful beaded bags. The intricate beadwork on them resembled flower arrangements, with some even featuring flower designs. The bags were vibrant and eye-catching, drawing us in immediately. We ended up striking up a conversation with the friendly owner of the shop.

She shared with us that she is a permanent resident here in Singapore and is seeking citizenship. Her first application has been unsuccessful. She had paid an agent to handle the application, and the cost covered two attempts. She plans to apply again in the near future. She spoke about the power of the Singaporean passport, which allows for easy travel to many countries without the need for visas.

As our conversation continued, the topic of citizenship shifted to something deeper as SK shared with her about a greater citizenship, the Kingdom of Heaven. It turned out that she was a believer too, though she had not been attending church regularly. She told us that she had been drawn to churches in the area but had yet to settle on one.

We took a moment to pray for her. We prayed for her citizenship application, her business, and her family. As we prayed, we could see tears welling up in her eyes. There was something powerful about the moment, and we truly believe that God is waiting for His children to return to Him.

It was one of those unexpected encounters that reminded us that God is always working in the background, drawing hearts back to Him—even through the most ordinary circumstances. We are thankful for that brief, yet meaningful connection.
