After the (PE) training on 12 July 2025 at 1pm, my partner Phiak Lay and I were sent out to practice what we had just learned.
We walked around i12 Katong, praying and discerning where God might be leading us. I received a vision to go to Katong Square on the upper level. We weren’t certain who we were meant to meet, but we followed the Spirit’s leading.
After completing a round of the area, I noticed an Indonesian woman sitting outside an art stall. We discussed with Sharon, our facilitator, and afterwards she confirmed that this was indeed the person we were meant to reach out to.
I approached her, greeted her warmly, and began a conversation.
She shared that she was from Jakarta, Indonesia. I told her I had just returned from Yogyakarta, and this opened the door for connection. I showed her photos of children from my trip, and her face lit up as she mentioned she also had children back in Jakarta.
I shared with her a simple Bahasa phrase I had picked up: “Tuhan Memberkati” (God bless you). She smiled and appreciated the effort.
I then handed her our church contact card and gently invited her to visit us if she ever had the opportunity. At that moment, she mentioned that she was a Muslim. I asked if I could pray for her, and to my surprise, she agreed without hesitation.
As I began to pray, especially when I lifted her children before God, something deeply touched her. She suddenly burst into tears and ran to a corner, overwhelmed. I walked gently toward her, gave her a comforting hug, and softly told her it was okay.
Before leaving, I told her I would come visit her again. With teary eyes, she looked at me and simply said, “Thank you.” I replied, “Terima Kasih.”
During our debrief, I told our team, we will need to pray and will follow up with her again.
