A few of us went to Joo Chiat Road near i12 Katong, looking for an older lady with greyish-white hair that matched the prayer vision we received. We searched several small shops but could not find anyone who fit the description We noticed an older lady manning a dessert shop alone (one of the last shops), but her hair was brownish grey, tied in a bun, and her built was slim.
As we prayed about whether to enter the shop, another older lady appeared. She matched the vision perfectly with greyish-white hair, simple clothing, a plump build, and sitting on a bench in front of a shop with a glass exterior (just as seen in the vision). When we approached her, she warmly greeted us and tried to sell us drinks from her cart. I sensed that she was the person God wanted us to minister to. We learned that she makes a living selling drinks and cardboard boxes. We spoke with her in a mix of Mandarin, English, and Malay. When she found out I am Chinese Indonesian, she happily spoke to me in Malay.
Our mentor, Jaaziel, asked if we could pray for her, and she gladly agreed. I had the privilege of praying that she would experience God’s love, healing for her knees, provision for her needs, and healing in her family relationships. She was deeply moved and thanked us for praying.
It was a journey of faith for me, as I witnessed how God would lead us so specifically to minister to a stranger on the street, but today reminded me that He is a faithful God despite our little faith.
